The Lazy Man’s Search for Easy Food 🍎
Once upon a time, there lived a very lazy man in a village. 🏘️ He would constantly try to get food without putting in any hard work. One morning, while wandering through the countryside, he decided to steal some apples 🍏 to satisfy his hunger. As soon as he tried to pick an apple, a farmer 👨🌾 noticed him and started chasing him. Terrified, the lazy man ran into a nearby forest 🌲 to hide.
The Two-Legged Wolf 🐺
While walking through the forest, the man came across an old wolf with only two legs. The sight puzzled him. How was this wolf surviving? It couldn’t run 🏃♂️ or hunt, and it seemed defenseless against other animals. Yet, the wolf appeared content, crawling around. Suddenly, the lazy man saw a lion 🦁 approaching the wolf. The lion carried a piece of meat 🍖 in its mouth. Fearing for his life, the man climbed up a tree 🌳 to stay out of harm’s way. To his amazement, the lion didn’t attack the wolf. Instead, it left the meat for the wolf to eat. Seeing this, the lazy man was overwhelmed with joy 🤩 and thought, “This is God’s plan at work!”
A Misunderstood Sign 🤔
The lazy man convinced himself that God must have a plan for him too. Believing he could also survive without effort, he went to find a quiet spot to sit and wait for food 🍽️. He waited. And waited. And waited… for two whole days. But no one came to feed him. His hunger became unbearable, and he finally gave up. 😩

On his way back, he encountered an old sage. The man shared his experience and asked, “O wise one, God showed mercy to the crippled wolf. Why didn’t He show mercy to me?” The sage smiled and replied, “It’s true that God has a plan for everyone, and you are part of it. But, my son, you misunderstood His signs. God didn’t want you to be like the wolf, relying on others. He wanted you to be like the lion, strong and capable of helping others.”
