The Clever Minister and His Wise Son 🏰💡

Once, there was a clever minister in a king’s court. This minister had a solution for every problem, and the king did not make any major decisions without consulting him. However, many people in the court were jealous of the minister’s wisdom and influence.
One day, the king said to the minister, “You are very smart, but your son is foolish and lacks sense.”
The minister was surprised and asked, “Your Majesty, why do you say this? Why do you think my son is foolish?”
The king replied, “Every morning, when I meet the people, your son is there. I ask him every day, ‘What is more valuable—gold or silver?’ and every time, he says silver. This makes me think he has no sense.”
Hearing this, the court laughed, leaving the minister embarrassed. He returned home without saying anything.
The Minister’s Question 🤔
At home, the minister asked his son, “Which metal is more valuable—gold or silver?”
His son quickly replied, “Father, gold.”
The minister, confused, asked, “If you know that gold is more valuable, why do you give the king the wrong answer and say silver every day?”
The son smiled and explained, “Father, every morning, the king places two coins before me—one gold and one silver—and asks me to take the more valuable one. I pick the silver coin every time, and the king laughs and leaves.
The Son’s Wisdom 🪙✨
Curious, the minister asked, “Why do you pick the silver coin every day? Today, because of this, the entire court mocked me.”
The son led his father to his room and opened a box filled with silver coins.
The minister, surprised, asked, “How did you get so many silver coins?”
The son replied, “These are the coins the king gives me daily. If I choose the gold coin once, the king will stop asking me this question, and I will lose my daily silver coin. The king enjoys watching me pick the silver coin and laugh at me. I don’t mind because I keep getting these silver coins every day.”
The Minister’s Pride 🌟
Hearing this, the minister felt proud of his son. He realized that while people thought his son was foolish, his wisdom was far deeper than they understood. From that day on, whenever anyone called his son foolish, the minister simply smiled and said nothing.
